Of all the fasting techniques the easiest is eight / sixteen.
Eight hours is the window to which you can eat.
Sixteen hours is the fasting part which is sixteen hours before your next meal.
It is very easy, all you have to do is decide which eating schedule you want to start.
Just look at your schedule and see how you can fit your lifestyle around it.
Let us say you have breakfast at eight am, then a snack at ten am, lunchtime you have your meal and by evening, you have a calorie-free beverage.
If you are not a morning person then there is this.
Wake up at nine am have coffee in the morning only.
At eleven have breakfast, at two pm have lunch, at four pm have a snack, and at six pm have dinner.
You can adjust the schedule to your lifestyle any way you want It is up to you.
If you are a very late person who wakes up at eleven, drink a calorie-free beverage, at one pm have a snack, have lunch at four pm, and a snack at six pm, and dinner at nine pm.
It may be that none of these schedules don’t work for you.
You can make one up for yourself.
When you are eating in your eight-hour window make sure you eat healthy meals and snacks.
Eating junk foods will only make you more hungry for junk foods and then you won’t last on your fast.
What are healthy choices to eat?
That is a lean protein like fish, eggs, legumes, poultry, nuts.
Fresh fruits like bananas, berries, apples, pears, peaches, oranges.
Healthy fats like olive oil, coconut oil, avocado oil.
Vegetables like cauliflower, broccoli, cucumbers, and leafy greens.
Whole grains like quinoa, rice, oats, barley, and buckwheat.
These are the kind of foods you should be eating, they keep you full and not craving junk foods
That will leave you craving foods that will keep you from reaching your goal.
When they say to drink a healthy beverage they mean the following.
Unsweetened coffee, green tea, water, any teas without milk or sugar.
These will keep you hydrated until your fast is over.
If you drink any beverages with calories you are breaking your fast.
The only time you can have a sweet beverage is during your eight-hour window and even then you should limit your sweet beverage intake.
Not following your fasting by having a sweet beverage ruins your whole regime.
So in conclusion of eight / sixteen, is an eight-hour window to eat normal meals.
After that window closes you have to fast for sixteen hours.
After the sixteen hours is over you start your eight-hour window eating once again.
Once you are fasting you can only drink coffee black, green tea unsweetened and without milk, and water.
Any soft drinks during fasting break it.
So make sure you eat healthy meals so that you do not get any cravings when you are on your sixteen-hour fast.
