How many of us make a New Year’s resolution every year? I’m going to the gym and lose weight!
Then some go for a few days, a week, a month, and then that is it.
What is it that makes us give up so easily?
Well if you stop and think about it, many people go to the gym and enjoy the equipment that would otherwise take most of the room in their apartment if they had it.
Others feel uncomfortable in front of others because they are overweight and do not want to be seen.
Others are germ-phobic so they don’t want to be around equipment that has been sweated on by other people.
While others say they are to tired to go after work.
There are many more reasons and everyone knows their reasons why.
When it comes to exercise the thought of moving all sorts of different directions, reaching for something that isn’t there.
Running in place and not going anywhere, sore muscles, and sweating profusely all over yourself.
Some people even get hurt and do not realize it till they go to the doctor and find out that they have pulled a muscle and need to take time away from the gym, which makes it hard to come back.
While others just don’t like going.
There is nothing wrong with not going and there are other forms of exercise you can do, with it not being considered exercise.
There are always things to do around the house that can keep you fit.
Like mowing the lawn, pulling weeds, washing your truck or car, cleaning the house.
There is always something to do to keep yourself busy.
The best way is to have a fun time with the kids at home.
The park running and throwing around a Frisbee or ball, playing games.
Dancing, going bowling, even playing golf, or swim laps in the pool.
Ride your bike to work or around the block a few times, use a skateboard.
I’m sure there are so many more things you can do to keep yourself active.
Don’t get me wrong there is nothing wrong with exercise.
It may be a lot easier to do if you enjoyed yourself.
You would be looking forward to moving around more.
Think of it like this! If you make it fun, you are more likely to be excited to exercise.
Do it in fun ways, get friends involved.
You don’t even have to tell them you are exercising.
you just want to hang out and have some fun with them.
Who knows you may just get them to want to do things together and they can get healthy along with you.
It just takes a little motivation to get the ball rolling.
The best thing about that is you have the ones you care about around you all the time.
plus this would make a great time to make memories for everyone involved.
Just think it all started with wanting to make exercising fun.
